The ITTA was formed through the consolidation of the former Association of Technical Education Centers, Inc. (ATEC) and the International Computer Training Association, Inc. (ICTA).  These associations were founded to address technical training related to networks, computer hardware and software applications training.  The association has a general membership of nearly 200 companies that deliver this training in over 500 sites in the US, Canada, and Latin America.  ITTA maintains a headquarters staff offices in Austin, Texas.
